UPB provides consultancy and development support services to various stakeholders within the regional, national, and international socioeconomic landscape.

Service provision/consultancy represents a significant value, of which around one third corresponds to innovation contracts with companies.

UPB carries out its mission in close cooperation with society, including through cross-border cooperation, with a view to promoting territorial cohesion and strengthening its national and international presence, contributing to the development of the Region through innovation and the production and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge, in accordance with its Statutes. 

UPB participates, independently or through its organisational units and R&D units, in activities that foster engagement with society, particularly through the dissemination and transfer of knowledge, as well as the valorisation of scientific knowledge. Therefore, one of UPB’s objectives is to promote regional development through multiple forms of engagement with the community, ranging from knowledge transfer and participation in programmes and projects to the provision of services. 

This is an institution strongly connected to the region, playing a leading role in fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, technology transfer and the co-creation of technological innovation with internationalisation potential.

According to financial reports, there is clear evidence of a strong effort and commitment to promoting the growth of funding from innovation contracts with companies. 

Consultancy and the provision of research and innovation services contracted with companies continue to show a growth trajectory, already exceeding €1.65M (value in 2023), with approximately one third of this amount corresponding to innovation contracts with companies.
