The Student Ombudsperson is a member of the UPB academic community with recognised academic and teaching merit and a proven reputation for integrity and independence, appointed by the President of UPB after consultation with the highest student representative body. The Student Ombudsperson is fully independent in the performance of their duties and may not hold management positions. The Ombudsperson carries out their activities in coordination with the student associations and, in particular, with the Pedagogical Councils.

The Provider is responsible for:

• a) examining students’ complaints and grievances and, where deemed justified, issuing appropriate recommendations to the competent bodies;
• b) making recommendations aimed at safeguarding students’ interests, particularly in the areas of teaching activities and student social support.
